Channel Islands, Road Trip!

We headed North this weekend to one of home towns, to go sailing on the Bill of Rights a Tall Ship, based in Channel Islands Harbor.

This tall ship reaches 137′ and is ran by the Tall Ship Institute, a Non-Profit group dedicated connecting the youth to our environment, through curriculum based marine science, history and social science programs, multi day educational programs, and boat building programs.

My dad has been volunteering with the crew for a year now and has nothing but amazing stories of the crew and the programs offered to teens. The main focus of the Bill of Rights/America Tall Ship Institute is to encourage positive youth and community development through environmentally aware, curriculum based, ocean centered programs. These programs are funded in part by weekend sails and gracious donations.donations.

If you have the opportunity, the drive up the California Coast is worth a day on the Bill of Rights.
